HOW 5G OF PLASTIC SAVED A CLIENT HUNDREDS

Recently, a client of ours encountered a problem where they had to either source a replacement part for a broken fixture, or replace the entire window. This is a common occurrence, as machines and designs become outdated and their parts become obsolete. This is a phenomenon known as planned obsolescence, where businesses intentionally make sure that their current products become out of date or useless within a specific period of time in order to increase demand for replacements.

Thanks to the emergence of 3D printing, however, these problems are now much easier to solve. 3D printing is a revolutionary technology that can create small, intricate components as well as large, complex parts to exact specifications in a much shorter time and at a fraction of the cost of traditional manufacturing methods. 3D printing also allows businesses to print replacement parts on-demand, thereby reducing the costs of inventory and ordering and shipping parts from manufacturers.  In this particular case, here in Tredé, we were able to digitally replicate the broken part and manufacture a replacement in just two days - saving our client hundreds of dollars in the process.
